For many residents, the holidays are officially kicked off by a local Christmas Parade. 2020 is looking a little different, but living in Quinte is still festive with popular nighttime displays featuring holiday lights and music. Starting in late November, residents are encouraged to do walking and driving tours to feel the magic of the season while maintaining social distance.
Take a stroll down Main Street in Brighton and enjoy the festive lights in Memorial Park as well as unique storefront window displays from local businesses. Be sure to also stop by the RE/MAX Quinte window to check out local listings!
In Trenton, the annual Doug Whitney Christmas Fantasy of Lights display provides gorgeous waterfront scenes along with holiday music to experience on foot starting the weekend of November 28.
If you are looking to experience the magic by car, you can check out larger drive-through displays in Belleville and Cobourg, both within a 30 minute drive of Brighton. The 61st annual Belleville Festival of Lights will include 6 different parks in Belleville, with a 5 km driving route available at belleville.ca starting November 20. The Belleville Holiday Drive-by Celebration will have drive-through displays at the Belleville Sports and Wellness Centre on November 22 beginning at 5 pm. Letters to Santa will be received by Santa’s Elves, and donations will be accepted by Gleaner’s Food Bank and the Firefighter’s Toy Drive. In Cobourg, Christmas Magic displays will light up Victoria Park and Rotary Harbour Front Park in December. Also in downtown Cobourg, parade floats will be set up on display starting December 4. And starting December 14, a driving route of local homes participating in the Cobourg Home Decorating Challenge will be available at experiencecobourg.ca.
Happy Holidays from all of the Realtors and Staff at RE/MAX Quinte!
